TACK Clients,
Message from TACK's Executive Director
TACK Clients,
The Transit Authority of Central Kentucky has been created pursuant to state law to promote and execute public transportation services within our assigned areas of Meade & Hardin Counties. We are a public entity. TACK must adhere to many state and federal regulatory agencies, but specifically to the Federal Transit Administration and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (Office for Transportation Delivery) in our day-to-day administration.

TACK must also consider the interests of our local leadership – as the Board of Directors is controlled locally. Our operations are varied and subject to further dictates issued by programs such as Medicaid and programs serving the transportation needs of senior citizens.
Yes – as you can tell – we must adhere to many complicated regulations and restrictions. As such, I must ensure TACK remains separate from any political discussions ongoing in our state capitol. However, as a taxpayer, you do not operate under such restrictions. You are allowed to contact your local and state government representatives and voice your opinion.
I encourage you to do so – at this time and always.
Public transportation in our part of this state isn’t what we’d like it to be. However, we’re making strides to improve our delivery effectiveness and each day we operate we reinforce the concept of public transportation being focused upon sharing a ride. TACK must work hard each day to make shared transportation relevant to your life and lifestyle. To the extent you think this is important to you and your family you should always consider contacting your state representative and letting them know how well we’re doing this. Thank you.
